BAE System's Global Access Program is committed to ensuring our local suppliers have access to worldwide opportunities. The program provides our local suppliers with an entry point into our company's global supply chain. We search across our global supply chain and partners to find opportunities for our suppliers to support our diverse products and services in the air, land, sea and electronic domains.

As the Global Access Program - Project Manager you will be responsible for working with Australian industry to meet the objectives of the Capability and Sustainment Group (CASG) Global Supply Chain Deed and will involve you developing a strong understanding of the capability of Australian industry with an emphasis on subject matter experts. 

In terms of more specific responsibilities, you will:

  • Meet the obligations and measures of effectiveness of the Global Supply Chain Deed and Annex relating to market assistance and training
  • Develop and maintain a capability database of Australian industry
  • Perform assessments of supplier capability
  • Develop suppliers to enable them to successfully deliver global supply chain opportunities
  • Engage support from functional subject matter experts within the business to assist in assessing supplier capability, developing suppliers and providing support to suppliers to address barriers to securing global supply chain opportunities
  • Identify suppliers with the capability required to secure opportunities identified in the BAE Systems Global Supply Chain
  • Appropriately mentor and support suppliers in marketing to BAE Systems for targeted opportunities and responding to global requests for tender
  • Develop, coordinate and provide training programs to support industry
  • Engage with industry associations and other Federal and State government programs to effectively engage and develop industry
  • Act as the central focus for planning, coordinating and supporting BAE Systems Global visits to engage and assess local Australian industry
  • Mentor subject matter experts in preparing for meetings with decision makers
  • Support the Australian businesses in developing Australian industry capability plans in responding to request for tenders and supporting the delivery of the Australian industry capability outcomes post contract award
  • Position BAE Systems as an industry leader in the delivery of work for subject matter experts and other defence companies through the global supply chain
  • Work with other Defence primes in the global supply chain to effectively engage with Australian industry
  • Work with other global supply chain primes, or independently, to plan and facilitate supplier conferences

As the ideal applicant you will have:

  • Strong procurement experience, with proven capability developing and growing opportunities with suppliers
  • Experience in supplier development and change management programs
  • Experience in managing and negotiating major subcontracts
  • A degree qualification with either MCIPS or relevant accreditation
  • Lateral thinking ability with strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills
  • The ability to form strong working relationships with suppliers
  • The ability to negotiate with and influence internal and/or external stakeholders in a way which generates business benefit whilst maintaining key relationships

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
