Our core values of Trusted, Innovative and Bold underpin everything that we do.  Applications are now sought from savvy Software Engineers to join our team and be an integral member of a meaningful project of national and global significance.  This permanent and full time position will be based at our Richmond, Victoria location and will report to our Software Engineering Team Lead.

As a Software Engineer, you will:

* Deliver allocated software engineering work packages and artefacts

* Undertake all assigned software engineering activities in accordance with the identified project directives and standards

* Produce software engineering documentation in accordance with appropriate standards

* Support teams with regards to interface to and reuse of developed software components

Provide software expertise, supporting generation of performance and functional definition and implementation for the project

* Assist with the development of project infrastructure such as tools deployment, metrics collection and process development

* Undertake requirements analysis, developing detailed design and participating in reviews

* Undertake the integration and validation of the design including contribution to the integration and validation plans and reports

As an ideal applicant you will have:

* A University degree level qualification in an appropriate discipline

* Software engineering experience and a strong technical ability including developing designs, participating in design reviews, undertaking design analyses and implementing engineering solutions, its integration, validation and qualification testing

* A good understanding of modern software development processes coupled with a strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle

* Experience in developing software in a variety of technologies such as C++,  MATLAB, Ada languages, python, scripting languages, Windows, UNIX, object orientated design or UML

* The ability to be a self-starter, practical thinker and strong problem solving skills

Whilst not essential, software engineering experience in a Defence or Aerospace environment coupled with experience with C++ and the Ada software development languages will be highly regarded

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
