Applications are sought from committed Senior Systems Engineers to join the Australian Military Airspace Communications and Control System (AMACCS) project. This critical position will work closely with the Systems Engineering Team Leader and Project Engineering Manager, will be situated at our North Ryde, New South Wales office and will be offered on a permanent and full time basis. 

As the Senior Systems Engineer, you will:

* Deliver the engineering team's outputs working on software, hardware, and mechanical project designs to ensure an integrated systems approach is taken

* Develop and manage system requirements and design documents to focus on system and subsystem specifications and product breakdown structure

* Author, update, and review designs of project contractual date requirement lists, integrated radio frequency systems, test documentation, and verification cross-reference matrices

* Undergo system engineering activities such as overseeing functional analysis, developing candidate solutions, system design, and analysis of acceptance tests and certification

* Use domain, discipline and systems engineering principles to ensure delivered products meet their requirements

* Develop work statements and technically manage suppliers

* Integrate components in a logical manner, with the support of component suppliers, to ensure emergent properties and limitations are exposed and acceptable

* Maintain the design and its documentation in accordance with the applicable configuration management, change management and traceability processes

* Independently review peers' work to identify technical risks and unknowns and support planning activities

* Foster a culture of openness, responsibility and consistent correctness and completeness

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

* Extensive engineering experience in the technical development and the systems design of engineering projects

* Tertiary level engineering degree

* Knowledge of electrical engineering and Radio Frequency (RF) systems and installations

* Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and develop effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders at all levels

Whilst not essential, knowledge of systems engineering practices to the development of military and Defence related equipment will be highly regarded.

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
