We are seeking to appoint a self-motivated Senior Technician to support the Australian Military Airspace Communications and Control System (AMACCS) project. This key role will be based at our North Ryde office and will be offered on a permanent and full time basis. Are you up for the challenge?

As the Senior Technician, you will:

* Undertake assigned tasks with HF/ VHF/ UHF Radio Equipment and related infrastructure

Mentor and develop technicians in the team, independently review peer's work and identify technical risks and unknowns 

* Support the design, development and implementation of systems and equipment, including interconnection, integration, installing, set to work, acceptance testing and maintaining the system and equipment

* Complete sub system assembly, test and fault finding

* Complete wiring to commercial or Mil Standard connectors

* Undertake system assembly test and fault finding with the use of general purpose support and test equipment

* Establish project level assembly and test procedures

* Conduct defect analysis, provide resolution and detailed technical reports

* Attend customer sites around Australia to support installation, test and inspection activities

As an ideal applicant you will have:

* Extensive experience as a Technician coupled with a relevant qualification

* Experience working with HF/VHF/UHF radio equipment and working knowledge of radio frequency systems and installations

* An understanding of Level 3 assembly drawings and the ability to utilise general purpose support and test equipment

* The flexibility to travel to customer sites around Australia when required

Whilst not essential, an ACMA Open Cabler's license combined with experience as a Technician within the Defence industry will be highly regarded.

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
