The future is bright at BAE Systems. We have been selected as the Managing Contractor for the designated Guided Missile Destroyer (DDG) sustainment program and this is a unique and exciting opportunity to be a part of an innovative solution. Highly collaborative and agile in approach, we are engaging, consultative and solutions focused and are looking for Logistics Engineers to join the team. 

Reporting to the Asset Performance Lead Analyst, you will be the Logistics Engineering focal point for the Asset Performance Management analyses in your technical systems domain for Platform, Electrical, Combat or Communications systems and will contribute to the long term optimisation of cost and performance outcomes for the Guided Missile Destroyers (DDG) class ship and shore systems.

You contribution to the team will include:

  • Developing optimised preliminary designs and undertaking Front End Logistics Support Analysis activities to establish design proposals aligned with Mission / Support System performance optimisation outcomes.
  • Critically assessing Operational data, trends and changes for finance impacts
  • Critically assessing Material Subcontractor Support Solution changes for support impacts
  • Assisting in the preparation of business cases for Commonwealth consideration of options to improve Asset performance outcomes;
  • Actively pursuing and delivering domain obligations to support the achievement of the Managing Contractor's Key Result Area and Asset Management Objective sets

As the ideal applicant, you will have:

  • Significant experience in Logistics Engineering and Logistic Support Analysis with relevant tertiary qualification and or experience
  • Significant Engineering experience in an engineering domain Analysis with relevant tertiary qualification and or experience
  • The ability to use and apply theoretical knowledge and historical data to current situations to understand problems, identify solutions and improve efficiencies
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the abilities to coach and mentor
  • A strong continuous improvement focus

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
