The Senior Technical Officer is responsible for ensuring that the technical and schedule goals associated with assigned maintenance support tasks are achieved in accordance with the contractual and company requirements.

Principally one of technical support, of planning and delivery of the technical team outputs, for the Primary Injection Facility (PIF) Operations and Support, and the ADSCC Support Contracts. The Senior Technical Officer will be part of the engineering team and be developed to a level of technical authority, working within the context of the approved technical framework.

You contribution to the team will include

  • Maintaining the mission system and its documentation in accordance with the applicable maintenance management, configuration management, and traceability plans and processes
  • Ensuring that all maintenance documentation that is used during maintenance activities complies with the relevant BAE Systems procedures and customer or statutory regulations
  • Correctly and promptly recording details of work performed in the correct computer maintenance management system
  • Ensuring that all appropriate documentation for engineering advice, defect reporting and publication amendments are incorporated
  • Leading the execution of sub-system tests which will ensure that the system conforms to its specifications
  • Identifying technical risks associated with the ongoing Support System
  • Independently reviewing peers' work, identify technical risks and unknowns
  • Supporting the development of Support System documents (SOPs, Work Instructions, Maintenance Procedures, etc.)
  • Supervising the work of the operations team, including assignment, scheduling, monitoring etc. during a shift
  • Reviewing analysis which defines and characterises the performance of the system and its components
  • Working within an maintenance, engineering and operational team environment

 Attributes and Experience

  • Significant experience in Electronics and/or electrical maintenance discipline
  • Diploma level qualifications in Engineering or Maintenance
  • Must be willing and able to be on a rotating shift roster
  • Professional leadership skills to influence multiple stakeholders across the business to deliver effective support management practices

As a defence security clearance is required in this role, candidates must be Australian Citizens, must hold Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance and be cleared for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
