To ensure our programs are delivered by the very best talent, we invite you to express your interest in joining BAE Systems Australia as a Mechanical Engineer.

As a Mechanical Engineer you will be accountable for the design and development of mechanical systems and/or equipment in accordance with contractual and company requirements. You will derive system and/or equipment requirements, define test requirements and participate in system design and requirements reviews.

As an ideal applicant you will have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role preferably within the Defence sector
  • Previous experience in designing for manufacturability
  • Solid experience in developing structural designs, participating in design reviews and undertaking typical design analyses
  • The ability to implement solutions and integrate, validate and qualify testing
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as civil, naval architecture, aerospace or mechanical
  • Previous experience in a range of technologies, design analysis techniques and development tools
  • The ability to contribute to and work in a cross-functional team while ensuring specific responsibilities are achieved  
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels and across teams

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) may be applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
