About the OPPORTUNITY:
We are seeking an experienced Legislation, Regulation & Standards Officer/Engineer to join our team and contribute to the Hunter Class Frigate Project (HCFP). This role involves ensuring that our technical solutions are developed in a legally compliant, integrated, and technically sound manner.
You will be instrumental in supporting the Chief Engineer's office through various governance activities, including system reviews, compliance reporting, compiling database and supplier data surveillance.
This position can be based out of our Adelaide or Melbourne office with flexible work arrangements such at working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid work environment on offer.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the application of governance over the Engineering Authority Delegation process and toolsets.
- Help to compile and administer the Legislation, Regulation & Standards (LR&S) database.
- Assist the LR&S Lead in developing and maintaining the HCFP LR&S Compliance Report.
- Assist to maintain the HCFP LR&S Baseline and provide monthly compliance reports to the Chief Engineer.
- Conduct relevant Supplier CDRL reviews as directed by the HCF LR&S Lead.
- Provide support and advice on all matters related to the HCFP Technical Governance scope.
- Undertake additional tasks as required by the HCF LR&S Lead.
About You:
- A degree in engineering, technology, law or related experience
- Understanding of technical governance principles, including system reviews, compliance, and standards gained in a defence or legal environment
- Minimum 2 years experience in the defence industry with a working knowledge of defence requirements
- Exposure and good understanding of IBM DOORS application
- Strong analytical abilities to review and interpret technical data and compliance reports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
- Proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to drive process improvements and enhancements
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance (if required)
