About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a new opportunity for a Safety Engineer to join the Test & Commissioning (T&C) department in our Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) Program based in Adelaide.
You will be responsible for supporting Test & Commissioning Safety operational staff, collaborating with a team of engineers and technicians, and delivering key engineering documents to ensure ship systems are set to work and tested according to program requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain the Test & Commissioning Safety Plan and associated processes, ensuring alignment with company policies and safety standards
- Author and review Risk Assessments, Test Forms, and safety documentation related to electrical, welding, and control systems
- Act as the liaison between the safety team and Set-to-Work team, managing workflows and access in the ePAS Isolations Management and Permit tool
- Conduct safety audits and assist with the planning of isolation tasks
- Provide training and mentorship on Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) processes and tools
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and production teams, to ensure safety compliance
About YOU
- 3-5 years industry experience
- Experiencing developing trade publications
- Relevant trade qualifications or tertiary education in a related field
- Strong problem-solving and engineering issue resolution skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Planning and task coordination skills
