About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join our Hunter Class line of business based at Osborne Naval Shipyard- SA, reporting to the Mechanical Superintendent.
We embrace work life balance arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
You will be responsible for ensuring all manufacturing delivery activities are cost-effective, resource-efficient, and meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP) requirements while following the technical plan.
As a Visible Leader, you will collaborate across teams and leadership levels to drive operational excellence and meet stakeholder and customer expectations.
Your role involves developing people, optimizing processes, and fostering continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, Legal, and Regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure compliance with SHE, Quality, Regulatory, and Contractual requirements, mitigating risks and improving performance.
- Drive continuous improvement, optimizing technical, schedule, and cost efficiencies.
- Lead team performance, development, and collaboration, ensuring effective work allocation and feedback.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, proactively managing concerns and grievances.
- Deliver clear and consistent communication, ensuring effective information flow and issue resolution.
- Plan and manage labour, budgets, and production outputs, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Implement resource planning and organizational change, shaping departmental objectives.
- Promote a positive work environment, fostering employee engagement and professional growth.
- Lead by example, ensuring a safe working environment through effective risk management and training.
About YOU
- Cert III Mechanical Engineering – Trade or Associate Diploma
- Experience supervising small teams in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and manufacturing processes.
- Broad knowledge of complex manufacturing operations and industry best practices.
