About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an excellent opportunity for a Systems Engineer (Obsolescence) to join our team within the Hunter Class Project.
As the Systems Engineer (Obsolescence), this role delivers the obsolescence program for the Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) Program by supporting the Lead Engineer in maintaining and delivering the HCF Obsolescence Management Plan in accordance with the requirements of the program.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the HCF Obsolescence Working Group, a devolved team of Mission System, Support System and Customer stakeholders, reporting to the Integrated Platform Steering Group (IPSG).
- Managing an obsolescence database and process instruction to record and action obsolescence notifications.
- Interfaces with a variety of Internal and External stakeholders including suppliers, transvers, platform and combat engineers and the customer.
- Supporting the reviews of the supplier obsolescence reports and delivering obsolescence resolution proposal reports for the Customer.
- Support the transition into service to ensure that the obsolescence status is understood and handed to the in-service support team at the point of design and manufacture completion.
- Building an extensive knowledge of Mission Systems and Support Systems.
- Maintaining the HCF Obsolescence Management Plan, to ensure Customer requirements are achieved and flowed-down to Suppliers.
About YOU
- A degree in an Engineering or scientific discipline, or equivalent, or demonstration of comparable suitable experience within Systems Engineering.
- Basic understanding of Obsolescence Management and / or Integrated Logistics Support.
- Understanding of System Engineering and Lifecycle management within a Defence Environment.
- Member of a Professional Organisation in possession or capable of acquiring CPEng (or equivalent Chartership).
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
