About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) Program based at Ed Parks, Adelaide

As Project Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the technical, cost and schedule goals associated with your allocated Delivery Stream or MPAAHS projects / tasks are achieved in accordance with the agreed requirements of the JORN Sustainment program.
The Sustainment Capability team comprises three Delivery Stream teams, each led by a PM, overseeing different functional or grouped projects within the JORN technical work scope under the Rolling Annual Program of Work (RAPW). These projects include Power and Electrical, Facilities & Hardware and Software / Information Communication Technology / Hardware.
Working across all aspects of projects that support the Engineering Lead and Delivery Stream PM in achieving the RAPW goals and targets for the Delivery Stream. You will be joining the BIS Battlespace Integrated Solutions Line of Business, which is responsible for supporting the $1.2 billion upgrade of the Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) to ensure that Australia remains a world leader in maritime and air defence Over the Horizon Radar (OTHR) systems
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide support as required to the Delivery Stream PM with budget planning and forecasting
- Manage and deliver Delivery Stream allocated projects within approved budget, schedule and quality including achieving the performance target set.
- Support projects through the complete engineering lifecycle — from problem report, planning, design, and incorporation to final product approval.
- Complete/Close out projects in accordance with applicable and project specific design change policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Management of allocated tasks including bidding, delivering of early engineering design and close out of technical support network with all stakeholders.
- Direct and monitor performance of contractors, designers and other members of the TSN in order to meet the requirements of their allocated Delivery Stream and tasks.
- Develop high-level system requirements and system design to JORN specifications.
- Conduct safety walks, process confirmations and support the implementation of safety improvements and initiatives.
About YOU
- A degree in Electrical, Electronic or Software Engineering
- Demonstrated experience within the Electrical Engineering discipline with working experience in the technical design and development of Electrical engineering projects.
- Experience in Engineering Process, Methods, Tools and Infrastructure
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and build highly effective working relationships.
- Ability to work effectively in a project team environment
- Ability to adhere to schedule and financial boundaries
- An existing Australian Defence Security Clearance or the ability to meet the application requirements.
