About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Controller – Maritime Innovation to join our delivery team based in Tonsley, SA.
Reporting to the Project Manager – Controls & Analytics, this role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining project financial data for Maritime Innovation Projects, including baseline budgets and monthly spend analysis.
The successful incumbent will have the opportunity to work alongside key stakeholders delivering concept projects that provide extensive advantage across Maritime to continuously improve current state, efficiencies, safety, productivity and quality.

Key responsibilities include:
- Understand the use of Earned Value Management within projects and easily understand and describe project variances
- Maintain and monitor all non-labour forecast and spends, including collating all Purchase Order data
- Easily understand methods of downloading data through Oracle reporting
- Liaise weekly with Maritime Innovation Project Managers to determine projects forecasts, Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC).
- Prepare and assist presenting all Monthly Status Reports for all Maritime Innovation projects
- Prepare all financial aspects for the quarterly Innovation Board meetings and Finance reviews.
- Good communication and understanding within a project management environment
- Actively contribute to the identification and treatment of risk & opportunity
- Provide support to determining return on Investment within all Maritime Innovation projects
- Provide support or undertake Business Analyst aspects of all Maritime Innovation projects
- Provide concise updates on financial aspects of progress to the Project Managers as required
- Engage with the communications department to help promote/capture social media for events as applicable
About YOU
- Previous experience in a similar role or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, with strong problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders both internal and external
- Advanced experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Project)
- Baseline defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
