About the OPPORTUNITY
We currently have an excellent opportunity for Practitioner Project Manager within Hunter Program based in Osborne Naval Shipyard, South Australia.
Reporting to the Delivery Project Manager, the Practitioner Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the Delivery Project Manager and the Phase Managers with tracking enablement and delivery of the Manufacturing Delivery scope.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as remote working, working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Delivery Project Manager and the Phase Managers with tracking enablement and delivery of the Manufacturing Delivery scope, with action-centred approach and driving to schedule delivery and cost recovery
- Supporting the Manufacturing Delivery Project Management team in managing risks, issues, actions and change
- Assisting the Fabrication and Construction Managers and their respective Integrated Work Team (IWT) Managers, on the delivery of small projects or initiatives where Project Management application would be deemed valuable, with the support of the Manufacturing Delivery Project Manager
- Build and maintain effective relationships as well as positively influencing all functional areas involved with Manufacturing Delivery to ensure Objectives, Critical Success Factors and Milestones are achieved
- Supporting the Manufacturing Delivery Project Management team in incorporating Project Management best practices across the Fabrication and Construction phases, including supporting the IWT Managers with their implementation and reporting
- Support the various stakeholders involved in alignment of schedule across WBS levels, escalating issues identified and helping the Phase Managers in management of their Performance Measurement Baseline
- Assist in various Operational and Programs meetings with generation and regular update of Manufacturing Delivery reporting needs and participate in meetings, as required
- Actively engage in the coordination, collation, documentation of Learning from Experience (LfE) between Phases of the Program
- Identify project opportunities and risks and support the development of mitigation strategies for pursuit throughout contract phases. Monitor and report on the status of risks and opportunities
About YOU
The Practitioner Project Manager is required to have the following qualifications and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or equivalent (advantageous)
- Demonstrated experience in a project or business management role
- Demonstrated experience in the planning and delivery of discrete project outcomes within a low complexity project environment
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Experience co-ordinating cross-functional teams
- Must be able to gain and maintain a minimum BASELINE Security Clearance, or higher level as required for the role
