We have a great opportunity for a Post Initial Employment Training (PIET) Instructor – Aviation to join our Aerospace business on the Aviation Technical Training (ATT) project based in Wagga, New South Wales – a city that offers affordable housing, a vibrant lifestyle and a thriving community. The BAE Systems Aviation Technical Training (ATT) project delivers all aviation trade training and technical manager training to the Australian Defence Force. As part of our inclusive and supportive team, you'll be given to opportunity to use your caring and outgoing nature to teach and shape the next generation of Australian Defence Force personnel.
If you have a passion for sharing your experience and expertise in the aviation industry, then we can help you with the rest. This rewarding position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis and will report to our Training Design Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertake facilitation and the delivery of technical training in Aviation Post Initial Employment Training (PIET)
- Design, develop and update PIET training solutions and training documentation
- Review and assess Aviation Defence policies and procedures, and technical regulatory frameworks
- Provide specialisation skills and advice to support aviation technical training
- Undertake supervision of Australian Defence Force personnel within a simulated working environment
- Develop and maintain good relationships with internal stakeholders, the customer, government and industry partners
- Maintain accurate electronic and hard copy records of training documentation
- Guide and mentor Defence students in best practice within the aviation environment
About YOU
- Aviation industry technical experience as a ground maintenance engineer, or as C-E (Communications/Electronics) Technician, or as a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician
- Certificate 4 in Aeroskills or higher qualification
- Experience with or knowledge of Defence policies and policy updates, maintenance publications and technical regulatory frameworks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
- Whilst not essential, a Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent) or training instructor experience, will be highly regarded
