We currently have a vacancy for a Tool Store Storeperson to join our Henderson team, where you will be responsible for providing support to the team to enable them to undertake Maritime Sustainment activities.
You will be reporting into our Shipyard Services Lead and working with an inclusive and supportive team working in an evolving environment with a focus on customer service, innovation and continuous improvement.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as accruing Rostered Days off. This role will be based out of our Henderson Shipyard and supporting warehouse in Western Australia.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Inspect and receive all incoming goods, ensuring relevant paperwork is received
- Receipt/scanning all deliveries into the database system
- Record all 'Use by Date' data into the 'Use by Date' database
- Transfers to/from controlled floor stock
- Undertake periodic 'Data Integrity' checks within the database system
- Ensure all items comply with BAE standards in Quality Control including packaging standards
- Establish and maintaining item traceability by keeping item receipt and conformance documentation
- Stock take of items on a monthly basis
- Pack items to comply with ITAR Dangerous Goods and other legislation
- General warehouse housekeeping
- Responsible for taking BAE employee orders and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Other tasks and duties as directed by Supervisor/Manager
About YOU
You'll have:
- A valid forklift license with a minimum 2 years' experience in Reach Forklift operation in a warehouse environment
- Previous experience in a similar role or experience in stock management within a mining, metal fabrication and construction environment
- High attention to detail
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to problem solve
- Well-developed self-management skills and ability to work under own initiative to deliver outputs to time, quality and cost
- Experience working in a team player and have commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to liaise effectively with suppliers, customers and other staff
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literacy, with intermediate knowledge MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with tools like SharePoint and Oracle, Aveva, MILIS, SAP is desirable
