Role Description:
We have an opportunity for a Structures Composites Instructor on a full time basis to join our project based at RAAF Base, Wagga Wagga, reporting to the Line Manager.
You will be responsible for delivering Initial Employment Training (IET) to aviation trade students, with a strong focus on Aerospace Structures and Composite materials. You will also support the ongoing delivery and administration of the Structures Training program.
Training is delivered across a variety of environments including classrooms, workshops, and hangars, providing a diverse and hands-on teaching environment. You will work with tri-service cohorts of students, contributing to the development of the next generation of aviation maintainers.
Core Duties:
- Deliver IET in Aerospace Structures and Composite repair techniques.
- Facilitate theoretical and practical training in composite materials, structural repair, and associated aviation maintenance practices.
- Deliver training across classroom, workshop, and hangar environments.
- Contribute to the development, preparation, and maintenance of training materials and resources.
- Support the administration and continuous improvement of the structures training program.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and industry best practice within the training environment.
Essential Skills:
- Extensive experience working in Aerospace Structures, with strong exposure to Composite Materials and Repairs.
- Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures) – essential.
- Defence experience (either as an ex-Defence member or through working within Defence regulatory systems) – desirable but not essential.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) – desirable. Candidates without this qualification must be willing to undertake training to obtain it.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and develop aviation trade trainees.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
