We currently have a rewarding opportunity to work with us as a Procurement Officer with our Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) team. Reporting to the Supply Support Operations Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end procurement activities including material and services procurement ensuring that best value is obtained for the DCE Program and business while balancing costs, supplier risk, quality, and schedule. Maintaining effective relationships and engaging with key stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive approach.
This role is open to a 9-day fortnight and will be based out of our Garden Island NSW site.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the supplier evaluation process and support sourcing recommendations on behalf of the business
- Facilitating and maintaining effective working relationships with suppliers, engaging with key stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach
- Supporting and coordinating delivery of procurement projects, contributing to delivery on time and on budget
- Manage procurement engagement activities including, but not limited to, expressions of interest, requests for information, requests for quotation, requests for proposal, requests for tender, supplier negotiations and contract development and execution
- Manage the approval, maintenance and close out of purchase orders, ensuring timely payments and delivery
- Maintaining awareness of the external business environment consisting of but not limited to; economic, political and legal, demographic, social, competitive, global, and technological sectors
- Establishing and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships across the enterprise, lines of business, and corporate functions to ensure procurement needs and agreed service levels are being achieved
- Providing management reports as required
About YOU
You'll have:
- Previous experience in a Procurement/Supply Chain role which includes the development and negotiation of straightforward contracts with key suppliers
- Previous procurement experience using Oracle
- Ability to run reports and interpret data for the purpose of meeting departmental objectives
- Demonstrated performance as a team member to achieve organisational objectives, showing flexibility to accommodate changing priorities
- Sound commercial acumen with a proven capability in negotiation
- Experience in software tools such as Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
