About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a SENIOR ACCOUNTANT REPORTING & PLANNING to join our finance team based in Adelaide CBD or Melbourne CBD, reporting to the Finance Manager – Reporting and Planning.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and or hybrid working.
As the Senior Accountant in Reporting & Planning you will be responsible for consolidating, analysing and producing actual, forecasting and budgeting data for the BAE Systems Australia entities. This data will be reported to the Australian Executive Leadership Team and into the parent group, BAE Systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for reviewing/checking Business Units' monthly/yearly/Integrated Business Plan/budget output packs;
- Responsible for understanding key variances for allocated Business Unit and validating the story with the numbers;
- Responsible for preparing and consolidating output packs and submissions to report into Group Finance;
- Responsible for routine forecast inputs into Oracle EPM;
- Accountable for updating half/end-of-year statutory disclosures, ensuring they comply with reporting standards and reconciling to underlying system;
- Responding to audit queries and requests;
- Responsible for implementing continuous improvement initiatives and improved ways of working.
About YOU
- Degree qualification in relevant field.
- Completed CA or CPA qualification.Previous experience working in a large project will be highly regarded.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience of adapting these styles to audiences at varying organisational levels.
- Ability to understand, analyse and communicate the financial results of the business and financial consequences of specific initiatives/plans.
- Ability to work in a team environment and lead and support team members by adapting your style to account for individual differences and motivators.
- Ability to liaise and maintain active internal and external network of business partners and peers.
