About the OPPORTUNITY
We currently have a new and exciting opportunity for a Sustainment Quality Assurance Manager to join our Maritime Australia business based at Garden Island, NSW.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as hybrid working.
Reporting to the Head of Quality, you will be responsible to oversee the quality management of BAE Systems Destroyer Group (DDG) Capability Lifecycle Contract Manager (CLCM) program and provide lead quality support for the associated Capability Enhancement Integration Project (CEIP) whilst effectively managing all assurance activities associated with the CLCM and DDG Systems Program Office (SPO).
Key responsibilities include:
- Champion and be responsible for the overarching quality management, review and assurance of DDGSPO QMS library documentation in accordance with program procedures and requirements
- Responsible for effectively managing all assurance activities associated with the program, including program specific ISO9001 accreditations and certification, company enterprise audit database and Maritime Business Management Systems (BMS)
- Lead all levels of auditing on behalf of the customer, including leading the team of auditors, managing corrective actions and non-conformances
- Be accountable for the correlation of accurate Quality data to support reporting through various BAE Systems and Commonwealth systems
- Provide quality support to achieve contractual and program milestones and represent DDG CLCM, DDGSPO, BAE Systems Head of Quality and/or Maritime Sustainment Quality team for internal and external meetings
- Represent and facilitate DDG SPO auditing for the CoA/Navy/SPO of the Sydney based operations based at Garden Island Defence Precinct, internal and external,
- Lead, support and implement continuous improvement and quality engineering/assurance improvement activities
About YOU
- Certificate/diploma in quality or related discipline with lead auditor certification is essential
- Demonstrated quality assurance experience including proven experience in leading diverse team
- Strong knowledge of quality related standards ISO9100 & AS9100 and associated defence sector regulations
- An ability to develop & negotiate a QMS execution strategy for multiple programs, ensuring the execution at any point in time is aligned with the company's growth/ expansion
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build good relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Strong customer engagement and leadership skills with maritime industry experience, will be highly regarded
