About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to join our shipyard facilities team on the Hunter Class Frigate program based at Osborne, SA, reporting to the Site Maintenance Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and flexible work timings
As a Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for design, development and implementation of ship building equipment, including interconnection, integration, installing, set to work, acceptance testing and maintaining the system and equipment
Key responsibilities include:
- Hands on with maintenance and/or installations of Automated Equipment / OEM.
- Conducting defect analysis and providing technical resolutions
- Ensuring that equipment is operational to best standards
- Providing inputs in planning maintenance schedules
- Engaging with vendors and stakeholders as required
- Review and maintain technical documentation and processes
About YOU
- Cert IV Trades Qualifications in Mechanical or equivalent
- Strong background in maintaining, troubleshooting and installing Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems
- Experience in maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting facilities and Industrial multi-system Production Equipment such as ; complex control systems, sensors, actuators, electric/pneumatic/hydraulic drives, motor pumps, vacuum systems and robotic welding
- A confident technician who can work with minimal supervision and mentor junior technicians
- You will be a promoter of best practices and contribute towards improving the technical documentation and test procedures
- A background in the Maritime or Naval industry would be desirable
