About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Controller / Planner to work on the upgrade of Royal Australian Navy ships, in a program of national importance, based in Adelaide (Osborne Naval Shipyard).
This program is critical to maintaining Australia's maritime capability over the next decade.
This fast paced, agile and innovative work includes key capability upgrades such combat systems and missiles, as well as platform systems upgrades and key sustainment activities.
Reporting to the Project Planning & Controls Manager, this role will be responsible for the proper use of the company Schedule Management System through corporate Lifecycle Management (LCM) framework, so that the project management team can adequately monitor and report on project cost, schedule progress and risk status.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Key responsibilities include:
Assist the project team to establish the initial schedule baseline:
- Manage and Control the:
- Contract Master Schedule (CMS),
- Integrated Schedule with lower level schedules,
- Multi-tier schedule framework,
- Manage and control a fully resourced and integrated Project Schedule and Control Account detailed schedules
- Manage and control the Work Package (or tailored Planning packages/ tasks) level including EV techniques
- Manage and control the baseline change control approvals and other baseline documentation
- Provide expert assistance in the use of schedule tools (Primavera / Microsoft Project) to:
- Enter baseline, progress and forecast data into the schedule tools
- Facilitated planning sessions with Control Account Managers (CAMs)/ Project Managers (PMs) to develop schedule and budget information
- Demonstrated ability to be able to accurately & directly convey project schedule status (good or bad) to the relevant stakeholders in a timely manner
- Providing adhoc assistance to the PC community with problem solving solutions
About YOU
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in Project Planning / Scheduling.
- Proficient with the use of Primavera P6 software.
- Exposure to Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and Cobra (advantageous)
- Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under own initiative to deliver outputs to time, quality and cost.
- Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Current Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
