About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Manager to join our program based at Osborne or anywhere in Australia, reporting to the Engineering Services and Support Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Configuration Management practices and systems for the Business Unit, Line of Business or Group of Projects in accordance with the processes in the company's Business Management System.
Working across all aspects of adhering to the relevant project Configuration Management Plan.
Key responsibilities include:
- Liaises with senior BU/LOB/Project staff as required to resolve CM issues and ensures the detailed configuration of the various products remains known and under control.
- Ensures product configuration can be accurately reported on request.
- Oversee preparation and delivery of CM deliverables to the Customer, and the receipt and processing of data deliverables from Suppliers, Subcontractors or the Customer.
- Manage preparation of materials for major project review, milestone activities and audit schedules with reference to the project schedules.
- Track data transmissions in and out of the program.
- Initiate and/or contribute to improvements to the CM systems and be accountable for the integrity of these systems.
About YOU
- Extensive Configuration Management (CM) experience in one or more engineering environments in a CM role, or extensive experience in an engineering or technical role with significant CM involvement.
- Significant experience in use of recognised CM tools and associated databases.
- Successfully managed CM or related technical teams including interfacing with engineering and technical personnel.
- Substantial experience in people management, problem solving and conflict management.
- Experience working in the defence industry.
- Exposure to leading projects and a proven ability to be able to work to a plan.
