About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior ILS Supportability Engineer : Technical Publications Authoring, to partner with our Maritime Sustainment business, working on the newest ship platform, the Hobart Class DDG naval ships. Reporting to the ILS Supportability Engineering Lead, you will be employed on a permanent full time basis and will be situated in either Garden Island (Potts Point), Sydney or other interstate locations.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, including working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform technical publications authoring/technical writing requirements analysis, plan and coordinate technical publications authoring activities
- Plan the delivery of technical publications authoring/technical writing, and deliver its artefacts
- Perform technical publications authoring activities and write technical work instructions
- Provide technical publications authoring skills and advice to support the program
- Collaborate effectively and build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a positive culture
- Utilise technical publications authoring tools effectively to undertake documentation development and verification
- Seek and share good practice and knowledge to continuously improve technical publications authoring
About YOU
- ILS/Supportability Engineering experience or Technical Publications Authoring/Technical Writing experience
- A relevant technical qualification and Defence industry experience
- Experience determining technical publications authoring requirements, developing technical publications authoring plans and schedules
- Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, the ability to influence and develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Self-motivation, agility to adapt to a changing environment, and driven to improve current process and solve problems
