About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Modelling & Simulation Engineer to join our Red Ochre Automation & Sensors based at DSTG – SA, reporting to the Project Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight. We're open to consider candidates seeking a part-time (0.8 FTE) role.
You will be responsible for completing own engineering activities in accordance with the relevant project procedures and work instructions, and where applicable regulatory requirements. They may also provide leadership to a small team and/or provide mentoring to other team members.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertake all assigned Modelling & Simulation activities, including related documentation, in accordance with identified project directives and standards, and commensurate with the lifecycle stage of the project
- Contribute to the development of high-fidelity system models for use in an advanced Defence modelling and simulation environment.
- Verification and Validation of the System Models
- Execution of virtual trials within the simulation environment
- Contribute to the development and validation of RF signature models
- Contribute to the generation of technical documents
- Develop knowledge and understanding in the M&S as pertains to EW evaluation
- Provide mentoring of more junior members of the team
About YOU
- Experience in C/ C++ programming is considered essential
- A background in Mathematics is considered desirable
- Expertise in Python, MATLAB scripting, GIT repository is considered advantageous
- Currently hold a Negative Vetting 1 clearance (essential)
