About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a new opportunity for a Supply Support/Logistics Lead to join the Combat System Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) based at Osborne, Adelaide. This key position will partner with the Maritime business, reporting to the Engineering Operations Manager, and will be offered on a permanent and full time basis.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia including working a 9-day fortnight.
The Combat System Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) support the Royal Australian Navy's surface fleet while strengthening Australia's sovereign combat systems capability. This collaboration drives cost-effective, agile solutions and advances continuous naval shipbuilding. The CSI-IPT team design, integrate, test, and deliver the Hunter-class frigates' integrated combat system and the Hobart-class destroyers' major combat systems upgrade.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate Combat system/equipment supplies, including support and test equipment to enable maintenance, installation and testing of the upgraded Hobart Class Destroyer naval ship Combat System
- Act as a point of contact for shipyard and supply chain stakeholders, providing an interface between production and the broader Hobart Class Destroyer naval ship support system, resolving issues that arise during maintenance, installation and testing
- Develop supply support processes and procedures to manage the interactions between the CSI-IPT team and external warehousing and inventory management systems
- Lead and manage a small logistics team, coach and develop personnel, ensuring services provided meet business objectives
- Proactively collaborate with stakeholders, ensuring issues impacting the time delivery of Combat System items are identified early and risks mitigated
- Manage the CSI-IPT's acceptance of Combat System supplies, including facilitating the return of items deemed defective upon delivery
- Foster a culture of performance excellence by promoting awareness and knowledge sharing of shipyard logistics across the CSI-IPT teams
About YOU
- Extensive supply support experience, or logistics warehousing experience or ILS Technical publications authoring experience
- People leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to manage a team and provide effective leadership, direction and motivation
- Knowledge of procurement, cataloguing, logistics processes and inventory management
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills, the ability effectively convey information and coordinate activities across various teams
- The ability to regularly travel between Adelaide based warehouse facilities
- Good computer skills and proficiency with using the Microsoft Office Suite, adaptable and self-initiative
