About the OPPORTUNITY
We have multiple exciting opportunities as a Procurement Specialist to join our Hunter Class Frigate Program based in Osborne reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight
As a Procurement Specialist you will be responsible for the establishment, placement and management of the appropriate contracting arrangements with capable suppliers to deliver the cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements of the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the procurement elements of bids and tenders ensuring robust definition of requirements and commercial terms
- Lead the supplier evaluation process and support sourcing recommendations on behalf of the business
- Support the development of robust supplier sourcing strategies for the business
- Proactively manage the performance of suppliers to achieve the requirements of the contract from a schedule, cost and quality perspective, developing and embedding the relevant KPIs
- Lead supplier negotiations and finalise Supplier Agreements and purchase orders in accordance with set procedures and Delegations Of Authority
About YOU
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field is desirable.
- Defence industry experience would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement or supply chain.
- Familiarity and experience in the development and negotiation of contracts with key suppliers.
- Ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and deliver on commitments.
