About the OPPORTUNITY
In early 2024, the Australian Government selected BAE Systems and ASC Pty Ltd to build Australia's new fleet of nuclear-powered submarines in a significant development in the AUKUS trilateral security pact between the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Practitioner Project Manager to join our AUKUS Program delivery team.
This role will be responsible for assisting the Senior Project Manager – Production Demonstration & Prototyping, to ensure the technical, cost and schedule goals associated with assigned projects are achieved.
Ultimately, this role will provide project management support for the build readiness workstream, enabling Build to execute its milestones. The role may also be responsible for the planning and delivery of straightforward, small projects or a collection of discrete tasks.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the Build Integrated Project Team reporting and risk management
- Support in planning and execution of Program reviews; including administration, scheduling, and actions with a specific focus on shipyard mobilisation
- Support to develop and review Program Management artefacts, including WBS dictionaries and Basis of Estimates
- Support the development of presentation packages, coordination of presentations and briefings, and associated administration
- Support, develop and manage schedules, timelines, and agendas
- Data management and analysis, using advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Support to the Lifecycle Management (LCM) processes and supporting LCM reviews.
About YOU
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or relevant experience (desirable, but not essential)
- Exposure to and understanding of Project Management fundamentals
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Ability to partner with and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to obtain the necessary deliverables
- Capability to identify and solve complex problems, think critically and innovate
- Current NV1 Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
