About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Project Accountant to join our SSN AUKUS team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager SSN AUKUS, this role is responsible for maintaining financials within the project, ensuring integrity and transparency of financial data to facilitate planning and decision-making. This role will be based in Flinders Street, SA.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia such as a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting delivery of financial performance and building business knowledge and acumen
- Acting as a trusted finance business partner within the program and cross-functional teams
- Supporting delivery of project reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, month end, annual budgets, Integrated Business Plan and bi-annual Commonwealth estimates
- Analytical review activities for reporting & planning, ensuring accuracy and integrity of all financial information presented to support informed decision making
- Providing in-depth advice on intricate and challenging financial issues
- Contributing to the improvement and enhancement of the data that we use and the information we share with key stakeholders
- Upholding a strong governance culture, including compliance with Finance Policies, Accounting Standards and Customer contractual requirements
About YOU
- CA or CPA qualification
- Previous project accounting experience, ideally within a large corporation
- Sound written and verbal communication skills and ability to adapt communication style to suit a variety of audiences and stakeholders
- Ability to understand, analyse and communicate financial results of the business and financial consequences of specific initiatives/plans
- Strong organisational and high attention to detail skills
- Eligibility for a Negative Vetting Level 1 Defence security clearance
