About the OPPORTUNITY
An exciting opportunity exists to join the High Frequency Sensing Portfolio as the Senior Project Manager /Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead. You will be working across several programs to deliver both mission and support systems engineering services.Located at either Edinburgh Parks, Adelaide or Melbourne CBD, you will have a focus on team leadership and project delivery to support execution of complex programs.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing effective leadership to Project Team members, including the Engineering team (Systems engineering, Systems integration, Systems Acceptance Verification and Validation, Support, engineering, maintenance, operating, supply, training support) so as to ensure project budgets and the schedules are met and the customer reports favourably on technical compliance with the specification and product quality
- Accountability for the day to day management of a multi-disciplined project team and effectively mentoring, leading and developing all operational personnel to deliver flawlessly within defined scope and schedule
- Effectively leading and engaging stakeholders and engage collaboratively with program managers to balance competing needs
- Monitoring program performance including earned value management and technical progress measures
- Advising and informing of any defects or potential defects in the quality of the products and services to support a proactive, prevention-based approach to the delivery of quality outcomes for the program
- Working with Finance to ensure the achievement of sound operational financial performance through effective budget management
About YOU
You will have:
- Significant senior project management experience in delivery of acquisition programs and a detailed knowledge of Earned Value management and full lifecycle engineering
- A proven track record in operational management and well developed asset and financial management skills, complemented by strong leadership capabilities
- A track record of successful management of project teams, involving external contractors and partners and successful delivery in terms of cost, schedule and performance
- A relevant Degree in a Project Management/Engineering/Manufacturing/business related discipline
- Well developed communication and people development skills
- An ability to negotiate with and influence internal and/or external stakeholders in a way which generates business benefit whilst maintaining key relationships
- Have a high level of customer focus and proven experience with customers at senior levels
- Experience in managing large and dispersed engineering teams (highly desirable)
- Higher education qualifications in project management at degree level and/ or allied disciplines (highly desirable)
- Must currently hold a Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance
