We have a great opportunity for a Project Accountant to join our Strategic Surveillance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the Project and/ or Finance Manager in maintaining the integrity and transparency of financial data to facilitate planning and decision making for the project.
This role is based at our Edinburgh Parks office in Adelaide.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide detailed, accurate and relevant reporting and commentary by the specified deadlines on forecasts, budget and cash flow to the project team, central finance group and corporate staff.
- Complete compliance to corporate guidelines, policies and procedures as well as accounting standards and legislation
- Improve processes used to calculate accurate, timely and efficient reporting of the financial results for the project (e.g. streamline month-end process)
- Collaborate with the project controls group on job ledger issues
- Prepare journals for project accruals and adjustments
- Manage the accruals process prepare and review reconciliation process between job and general ledger
KEY CRITERIA:
- Degree qualification as well as professional CA, CIMA or CPA qualification
- Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Australian International Framework of Reporting Standards
- An understanding of ongoing billing processes, maintenance and monitoring, including incorporating changes resulting from Contract Change Proposal's
- Experience with Month-end reporting activities
- An ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and members of the broader finance team
- Ability to use good written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with a wide range of project stakeholder
- High literacy and numeracy skills
- Exposure to Oracle ERP desirable
- Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Eligibility for a Negative Vetting Level 1 Defence security clearance
- International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
