We have a great opportunity for a Senior Accountant - Reporting and Planning to join our Finance Function. Reporting to our Manager – Reporting and Planning, you will be have a ‘big picture' view consolidating, analysing and producing actual, forecast, budget and longer term plan information for the BAE Systems Australia entities.
This role can be based at either our Flinders St office in Adelaide or our Bourke St office in Melbourne.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia such as a 9-day fortnight, flexibility and hybrid working.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support key processes during month end, budget, five-year plan and annual reporting, ensuring alignment with Group reporting requirements and timelines
- Deliver essential month-end activities including insights and reports that influence decision making
- Collaborate with other BAE teams to strengthen financial processes
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Represent the Reporting and Planning team on the finance reporting system optimisation project
- Provide accounting guidance and complete various ad-hoc queries as required
KEY CRITERIA:
- Degree qualification as well as professional CA, CIMA or CPA qualification
- Previous experience in partnering with business to understand activities and how they translate into the financials
- Strong experience in financial accounting and reporting
- Experience with a major ERP and reporting system
- A curious mindset with a willingness to learn
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain Baseline Defence security clearance
