About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Windows Systems Administrator to join our Maritime Sustainment Line of Business based at Osborne, SA.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist in ensuring that the Computing infrastructure platforms and associated data storage sub systems meet the current performance, reliability, & security requirements of the project or business. These services may include general Windows Server Management, Active Directory, VMWare, Compute, Storage, Backups, File and Messaging Systems
- Provide System Administration of the Windows Server Computing platforms and associated data storage sub systems for effective governance and functional requirements
- Assist with the planning and design, in both the team and as an individual, to ensure the Computing platform infrastructure is fully documented and supportable
- Assist in installing new/rebuilding existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage in accordance with standards and operational requirements
- Assist in upgrades and patches of operating systems by conferring with vendors and services; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements and new systems
- Undertake Incident and Service Request resolution for the services within the portfolio in line with service level expectations
- Communicate with vendors to resolve technical issues
- Some planned after hours and weekend work will be required
- Work in a multi-disciplined team
- With support from training, opportunities to cross skill in Citrix, Linux and other technology spaces
About YOU
- Extensive Windows Systems Administrator experience
- Good communications skills with the ability to work autonomously and within a team
- Good problem solving and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrated desire and ability to provide technical leadership
- Demonstrated expertise in the Administration of the latest Windows Server Operating Systems
- Demonstrated expertise in the Administration of Active Directory, SCCM, DNS, DHCP and Certificate Services
- Demonstrated expertise in the Administration of Windows File Servers
- Proficient in VMware VSphere Administration (6.7 and later) and HCI such as DELL Vxrail
- Proficient in PowerShell Scripting
- Willingness to learn and share knowledge
- Experience with Citrix and/or Linux Operating Systems would be highly regarded
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
