We have multiple exciting opportunities for Material Handlers to join our team where you will be working with our warehousing team and contributing to the success of Australia's largest shipbuilding program!
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for the provision of quality and customer focused service through the activities of receipt, handling, control, pick and dispatch of goods and materials.
You will be working with an inclusive and supportive team working in an evolving environment with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement. This role will be based out of various locations in Adelaide and will require travel to different sites. All sites are approximately 30 minutes from the Osborne Shipyard site in SA. This role is a 9 day fortnight.
Key responsibilities include:
- Unload and load trucks, transportation of materials to and between shipyard drop zones or warehouse locations
- Conduct inspection of inwards and outward bound materials as delegated by quality and in accordance with the respective policies and procedures
- Input and upkeep of data within the relevant ERP database system
- Operate forklift, and on-site vehicles as required
- Safely store goods and materials in the shipyard or warehouse
- Establish and maintain goods traceability through application of business policies and procedures
- Receipt, pick, kit, issue and deliver materials
- Conduct authorised inventory cycle counts and inventory adjustments.
About YOU
- Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Essential).
- Current forklift licence is a must
- Demonstrated warehousing and freight receipt/dispatching experience
- A strong commitment to safe work practices Be proactive and solution focussed and an eagerness to learn
- An appropriate qualification will be highly regarded (e.g. Certificate III in Warehousing)
- Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills
- Dangerous goods certification or willing to obtain
- Previous experience using ERP or warehouse management systems
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision
- Have experience in dogging for large and specialised items desirable
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work in a high pressure, fast paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- A reliable team player with a flexible attitude and a strong work ethic
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
