About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for an Australian Industry Capability (AIC) Specialist to join us based in Adelaide, Flinders Street.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
The role is responsible for supporting the AIC Manager and the Industry Capability and Development Manager to engage with key suppliers and defence and industry stakeholders to increase Australian supply chain capability in accordance with the Australian Industry Capability (AIC) Enhanced Contractual Framework or other such frameworks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist in the delivery and maintenance of AIC processes, ensuring alignment with program objectives and obligations
- Provide coordination and administrative support for proactive engagement with internal stakeholders and the external market
- Contribute to the collaborative development of strategies, plans, and processes within the program's iterative AIC framework, under the guidance of the AIC Manager
- Maintaining a detailed knowledge and understanding of Australian Government industry and AIC policy, and the Australian Defence Industry landscape
- Support the development and mobilisation of processes and innovative strategies to enhance Australian Industry Capabilities
About YOU
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (desirable)
- Significant experience in the defence industry ecosystem including proven ability to liaise with government, Defence, SMEs, and industry associations.
- Experience in supply chain management, supplier engagement, or industry development projects.
- Experience contributing to strategies and frameworks.
- Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management.
