Role Description:
We are currently looking for a Procurement and Subcontracts Officer & Procurement and Subcontracts Specialist to join our team in Maritime Sustainment.
As a Procurement and Subcontract Officer / Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering procurement and contracting outcomes that support the organisation's operational and strategic objectives. You will establish and manage supplier and subcontractor arrangements, ensuring cost, quality, schedule and safety requirements are achieved while driving value and managing risk.
Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and suppliers, you will support sourcing activities, contract administration, supplier performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.
Core Duties:
- Manage/ support supplier performance to deliver cost, schedule, quality and contractual outcomes, including the development and monitoring of KPIs.
- Support/lead sourcing activities, supplier evaluations and procurement recommendations, depending on role complexity.
- Support/manage procurement inputs to bids and tenders, ensuring clear requirements and appropriate commercial terms.
- Negotiate/administer supplier agreements and purchase orders in accordance with company policies and delegated authority levels.
- Ensure contractual compliance through effective commercial management, including purchase orders, payments, claims, warranties and contract variations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of sourcing strategies and cost-saving initiatives.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive value and minimise risk.
Essential Skills:
- Experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, contract management or a related commercial discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and confidently engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance cost, quality, schedule and risk considerations.
- Experience supporting or managing supplier relationships and procurement activities in a complex business environment.
- Well-developed negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing business requirements.
- Experience within the Defence industry or a highly regulated environment will be highly regarded.
- Familiarity with subcontracting, supplier agreements and procurement governance processes is advantageous.
