This role will have a particular focus on environmental compliance and will include managing the ISO1400 certified Environmental Management Systems and associated policies/ processes to meet the required legislative and company requirements

Your new role will be accountable for:
- Ensuring the business deploys a "Safety First" approach and culture, which protects the health and safety of all our employees, contractors, partners and the customer and protects the environment
- Demonstrating effective leadership, acting as a role model to all stakeholders and working with others as a change agent/coach to increase SHE maturity
- Driving a high performance and inclusive culture and role models inclusive leadership that inspires and promotes BAE Systems Australia's values
- Providing advice on requirements for compliance with SHE related legislation.
- Developing, implementing and evaluating SHE processes and procedures as well as implementing corrective actions where deficiencies are identified
- Proactively assisting with the SHE management systems audit programs
- Advising and maintaining on the environmental components of the SHE Management System including supporting documentation and tools.
- Building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Monitoring changes to the environmental legislation by ensuring that SHE documents reflect environmental legislation.
- Maintaining NGER reporting requirements, as required.
About you
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:
- Working experience in a similar role in an enterprise environment
- Working experience in an environmental compliance role in an industrial environment
- Experience managing ISO14001 certified Environmental Management Systems
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative, regulatory and requirements
- Experience operating in a high risk work environment (i.e. mining, construction, manufacturing
- Demonstrated experience in providing advice at management level on high risk/impact matters
- Managing compliance with South Australian EPA Licences and liaising with regulators
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management or a related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills including presentation, influencing, listening, coaching, consulting and team building.
- The ability to demonstrate professionalism and maturity along with a collaborative and consultative approach to issue resolution.
- The ability to apply critical thinking, information gathering, problem solving and communication skills and judgment to generate innovative, practical evidence-informed solutions.
- Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
