Your new role:
In Cairns, BAE Systems provides Hydrographic In Service Support (HISS) to the Royal Australian Navy, managing the in service support requirements of Hydrographic Ships, Survey Motor Launches and Survey Motor Boats. Collectively, the team manages scheduled maintenance, engineering configuration changes and ad-hoc support requirements to support this fleet.
An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for a committed Engineering Scheduler to partner with our Maritime business and the Hydrographic In Service Support program. You will be part of an inclusive and supportive team, performing interesting work and will be employed on a permanent and full time basis.
This opportunity will see you:
- Maintain and sustain the project engineering schedule for the effective monitoring of project cost and schedule progress
- Support the Project Controls Lead and the Engineering team by establishing and managing the project cost & schedule baseline
- Provide data input into the master schedule and perform integration activities of the overall project schedule
- Utilise costing and scheduling tools and enter baseline data into the tools
- Provide project reporting along with schedule and performance measurement analysis data
- Perform scheduling activities for the support of engineering changes and the engineering physical installation onto ship platforms
- Develop project estimates in conjunction with the engineering team, and the recording of the basis of estimation for auditing purposes
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a positive culture within the program
About you
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:
- Project Scheduling experience and experience utilising costing and scheduling tools such as Deltek Open Plan Professional (OPP) or Microsoft Project (MP)
- Good knowledge of project scheduling principles and procedures
- Good stakeholder management skills, the ability to build good relationships and articulate information to stakeholders effectively
- Attention to detail, critical thinking and problem solving skills
Whilst not essential, project scheduling experience in an engineering environment, will be highly regarded.
