Your new role:
In this critical role, as the SHE Business Partner you will be responsible for maintaining a safety culture by providing advice, mentoring, coaching and best practice solutions to prevent incidents. The role will be responsible for ensuring governance processes are implemented to assist management to meet WHS legal, business and WAMA requirements.
This opportunity will see you:
- Participate, collaborate and consult with leaders and teams to ensure they are engaged and aligned to the SHE strategic priorities, and WAMA Alliance, and have the right tools to do their job, confidence and ability to manage safe, health and environmental obligations and risks.
- Support and monitor the implementation, review and continuously develop BAE Systems SHE management system including risk assessments and controls.
- Establish and facilitate systematic approaches to hazard identification and risk assessments directed towards asset and operational lifecycle.
- Manage site safety, health and environmental event response and reporting procedures concerning significant hazards, injuries, incidents to ensure accurate and timely response and data analysis.
- Conduct compliance assurance activities in line with the SHE BAES and WAMA Alliance Strategies to verify and validate the integrity of SHE risk controls.
- Work collaboratively with the Health, Wellbeing and Injury Management team and the Capability and Governance team to deliver and embed SHE wide initiatives and processes.
About you
As an ideal applicant for this role, you'll have:
- Australian Citizenship, and be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security clearance to a minimum of Baseline.
- Demonstrated experience in SHE in a similar role in a large and complex organisation.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative, regulatory and compliance frameworks and governance requirements.
- Tertiary Qualification in Safety or related discipline (Essential).
- Demonstrated experience in providing advice at middle to senior management level on high risk/impact matters.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- An understanding of advanced theoretical SHE concepts and technical knowledge within a systematic and coherent SHE body of knowledge.

Clearances
As Defence security clearance maybe required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
