We currently have an exciting opportunity within our Hunter Class team as a Project Controls & Planning Manager based in Osborne, SA.
The Project Controls & Planning Manager will provide a planning service that translates the contract requirements into a robust suite of Program Plans that allows Program delivery teams to manage and control their schedule and budgeting targets.

Your new role:
As the Project Controls & Planning Manager you will:
- Implement, lead and manage a Strategic and Tactical planning process that support the key Project milestones, ensuring consistent application across the Project.
- Facilitate the flow down and the flow up of integrated detailed schedules progress and reports.
- Manage and lead a functional team of Planners.
- Maintain a planning model across all systems and levels necessary within the business to ensure seamless Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain integration throughout the Project that supports a top down, rolling-wave integrated scheduling approach.
- Generate, maintain and deploy all business and specific structures within the planning system ensuring seamless reporting across the business and systems meeting and exceeding their quality, timeliness and measures.
- Become trusted by and work closely with peer group and customers to ensure that agreed planning process is implemented consistently across the program.
- Ensure the coherency and appropriateness of all data including change within the Planning systems and its timely availability to the business
- Maintain a focus on customer needs coupled with a desire to remove non value added activities
- Collate weekly / monthly schedule data from Delivery Teams and Functions, analyse and interpret data, update and interrogate schedules and input to the compilation of the monthly Performance Report as part of the Program team.
- Manage the performance of a Planning team based on customer satisfaction and PDR deliverables
- Deliver continuous improvement through use of the lessons learned process and encouraging team members to seek out innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Act on behalf of Planning at meetings both within the project & externally to the Customer and Subcontractors and at all levels of the business.
- Demonstrate strong and active leadership for SHE, setting high standards across all areas
- Be a positive influence and role model across all levels of the business.
About you
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Commercial or Project Management
- Prior experience leading a team
- Demonstrated schedule and cost experience is essential
- Demonstrable experience with Open Plan / Primavera
- Defence/Shipbuilding Experience highly desirable
- Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) clearance required
