In this role, you will join a team developing an Autonomous Vehicle Management System for a high performance Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS).
Reporting to the Program Engineering Manager you will work closely with the customer, end user, relevant certification authorities and key project stakeholders to ensure robust systems engineering practices are implemented in all aspects of the Flight Vehicle Management System development which will allow the delivery of an appropriately assured/certified product to meet the end users' needs.
This opportunity will see you:
- Lead the project Systems engineering team.
- Work closely with customer & end user safety engineers & certification authorities to develop and interrogate systems CONOPs and requirements
- Develop and draw on, a comprehensive understanding of the Vehicle & Vehicle Management System to develop and derive requirements to deliver a robust VMS solution which supports the end user CONOPs
- Perform requirements analysis, derivation, verification & validation for a complex UAS Vehicle Management System
- Be responsible for the management & tailoring of systems engineering processes across the project, and implement appropriate Systems engineering practices in the software development domain
About you
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:
- The ability to obtain or already hold an Australian Defence Clearance
- A University degree level engineering qualification preferably within Software, Aerospace, Mechatronics, Electronics or Systems discipline.
- Sound understanding/experience in the field of aviation
- Strong understanding of aircraft certification standards, particularly for autonomous systems (ARP4754, 4671)
- Familiarity with the following engineering toolsets – DOORS, Windchill, JIRA.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills along with the drive to meet objectives
