In terms of more specific responsibilities, you will:
The Material Controller is responsible for the provision of a quality and customer focused service, working within the Shipyard Production Integrated Work Team to help manage and improve the storage and flow of inventory through the Warehouse and Shipyard to meet the needs of the customer, in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner
Responsible for managing any issues related to the flow of materials within the HCFP Supply Chain to ensure Production are supplied with materials in a timely manner to meet schedules
While integrated within Production IWT, liaison with a broad range of stakeholders across functions including Shipyard Logistics, Warehousing, Supply Chain Planning, Engineering, Quality, Planning and Facilities to resolve any Supply Chain issue affecting the Production effort
Understand and interpret MRP reporting, chairing meetings to discuss material shortage issues with a variety of stakeholders
Interpret, understand and manage inventory and coordinate the movement of materials between the Warehouse and yard to meet the production and yard logistics schedules
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Business, logistics, Supply Chain or related – preferred
- Ability to form good working relationships across business
- Good interpersonal , communication and influencing skills
- Ability to show initiative, prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Ability to use ERP systems
- Intermediate MS Office skills , especially in Word , Excel and PowerPoint
A strong commitment to safe work practices
A Defence security clearance is required for this role. Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
