We currently have a key role for a SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) Systems Lead ideally based at our Melbourne offices, however we would consider suitable candidates from other states.

Your new role:
Reporting to the Head of SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) – Governance and Assurance you will support the SHE function and business leaders through the provision of strategic leadership, and specialist skills and knowledge of SHE systems principles/ practices.
You will focus on the development of the documented SHE enterprise management system, establishing fit for purpose process, consistent compliance frameworks, and implement SHE systems/programs that support achievement of the BAE Systems Australia SHE Delivery Strategy.
This opportunity will see you:
- Lead the development of enterprise BAE Systems Australia's safety management system with a specific focus on consistent governance practice development.
- Design the SHE Safety Management System Strategy to continually refine and provide fit for purpose documented SHE processes.
- Support the implementation of robust SHE process and procedures that are embedded and understood by SHE practitioners and the business.
- Work collaboratively with the SHE Partnering and Delivery team, and the SHE Enterprise team to deliver and embed SHE-wide initiatives and processes.
- Utilise SHE data, and insights to inform the best position for SHE improvement and competitive advantage.
About you
As an ideal applicant for this role, you'll have:
- Australian Citizenship and eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
- Significant experience in HSE as a subject matter expert operating in a large and complex organisation leading the development/ refinement of management systems and risk management frameworks.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative, regulatory and compliance frameworks and governance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in providing advice at a middle or senior management level on high-risk/ impact matters.
- Tertiary Qualification in Safety, or related discipline (required).
- Post graduate qualification in Risk Management/SHE or similar discipline (preferred).
- Experience and knowledge in SHE System design and Implementation.

Clearances
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
