Aircraft, Training and Sustainment has an exciting new opportunity in the Structural Engineering team for an Aircraft Structural Engineer to support a number of RAAF platforms including Hawk and Joint Strike Fighter F-35, based in Williamtown, NSW. As an Aircraft Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for the continued integrity assessment of the aircraft structure in accordance with the contractual and Company requirements in order to achieve the required business performance.

Your new role:
- Support the Aircraft Structural Manager in the preparation of plans, reports and analysis.
- To ensure that engineering activities performed are carried out in accordance with the Engineering Management Plan and Aircraft Structural Integrity Management Plan (ASIMP) appropriate to that weapon system.
- Review and analysis of incoming structural life and health monitoring documentation and provide recommendations to the ADF for Configuration, Role & Environment (CRE).
- Assist in the monitoring, assessment and disposition of matters that impact airframe structures and fatigue. This includes recommendations for maintenance actions and activities.
- Conduct technical information review, determining the necessary action and embodiment implementation, including specification of design change in a professional manner and in a timeframe that promotes the availability of the aircraft fleet.
- Ensure that that design standards are not compromised, and that documents and artefacts generated are completed and managed within in accordance with appropriate, authorised data, work instructions, processes and procedures.
- To exercise engineering authority (where applicable) within the scope of the engineering authorisation allocated.
- Ensure that any airframe structure related issues affecting airworthiness, availability and reliability are brought to the attention of the Team Leader.
- Work within an engineering team and undertake engineering activities within own competence with minimal day to day guidance or supervision.
About you:
- 10+ years in aircraft structural integrity or structural design to aircraft
- A Bachelor of Aerospace OR Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Familiar with design development and review activities, within a quality framework.
- Experience with in-service support of aircraft (military preferred).
- Relevant experience in DASA regulations in particular those relating to ASI programs.
- Demonstrated high level of professional knowledge on the applicable weapon system(s), equipment or technology.
- Contribute to activities to support the Aircraft Structural Integrity Plan (ASIMP).
