About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical/Electronic Engineer to join our 710 C4 Sustainment LOB based at Edinburgh Parks- SA, reporting to the Project Engineering Manager.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and/ or hybrid working.

Working across all aspects you will lead a team of engineers to innovate, maintain, and enhance electrical/electronic products while ensuring efficient communication with stakeholders, solving obsolescence challenges and contributing to product safety and quality in defence related projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage planning (cost and schedule), allocation and deployment of team members and workload
  • Provide sustainment support for electronic products including solving obsolescence by redesign/ selection of alternate components
  • Ongoing assistance with understanding circuit function, interpretation of test procedures and defect analysis
  • Derive product requirements, define the test requirements and participate in associated design reviews
  • Manage and report against the teams' work programmes including analysis of risk
  • Support to production planning and manufacturing activities
  • Review and revision of Test and Assembly Procedures

About YOU

• Experience with Electrical / Electronic product design, maintenance/service & reverse Engineering of Electrical/Electronic products
• Experience leading a team and/or mentoring younger Engineers
• Experience working on Electrical / Electronic circuit analysis and diagnosis of circuit card defects for repair & maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Engineering change notice (ECNs) & deviation processes for Electrical / Electronic products & parts
  • Experience working with Microsoft tools such as projects, Excel, word, power point etc. for tracking and managing new project schedule and cost

There will be some travel required to defence establishments in support of sustainment activities
