About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Windows Systems Engineer to join our JORN Line of Business based at Edinburgh Parks - SA reporting to the Windows Team Lead.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
You will be responsible for the design, administration and day-to-day management of the Windows systems used on JORN.
You will also be involved in performing secondary functions such as fault detection, performance monitoring, general systems management and Level 3 support.
The Windows team will deliver as part of the Acquisition program new Windows SOEs and contribute to delivering new ICT Infrastructure, engineering applications and various automation and monitoring tools.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop and implement Windows based solutions in accordance with contractual requirements
- Administration and Level 3 support of JORN Windows systems and environments
- Analyse, plan and implement upgrades and patches to the Windows SOE
- Effective configuration and change management control of JORN Windows systems and environments
- Complete technical investigations on Problem Reports and Change Notices
- Use of Agile/ Scrum methodology and tools
- Participate in fault detection, performance monitoring, general systems management and timely resolution of systems issues
About YOU
- Strong and relevant industry experience in designing, developing and implementing Windows based solutions
- Experience in a similar role ideally within the Defence sector
- Demonstrated experience in the design, implementation and system administration of Windows operating systems and environments
- Demonstrated experience in change management and configuration control
- Knowledge of cyber security and Information Systems Security Policies and Procedures including the Defence Security Principles Framework
- Proven ability to function confidently within a project team environment with demonstrated problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment or autonomously
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Demonstrated comprehensive experience in and with Windows Active Directory Domain Services, DHCP, DNS and at least one of Exchange, SCCM administration, SOE management, applications packaging and deployments
- Whilst not essential, experience in working with Agile and Scrum processes will be an advantage
