About the OPPORTUNITY
An opportunity now exists for a talented CSI IPT DDG Performance Engineer to join our Maritime CS and System Integration Line of Business based in Adelaide, South Australia.
Reporting into the DDG Support System Lead within the Combat Systems and Systems Integration line of business, you will be working within the Combat Systems Integration (CSI) IPT supporting the deployment of the latest combat systems into the Royal Australian Naval fleet.
As part of the Engineering Operations team, you will be working closely with both the Systems and Quality engineering teams to provide insights on process oversight and guide the wider Hobart Class Combat Systems engineering team along with ongoing collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting of engineering metrics over the varying phases of the program.
This includes playing pivotal role in driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring that all engineering operations align with industry best practices to meet the high-performance standard and developing engaging relationship both internally and externally.
The CSI-IPT Enterprise consists of four organisations, Department of Defence, BAE Systems Australia, Lockheed Martin Australia and Saab Australia that will work collaboratively as one team to establish a long-term cost-effective and agile CSI sovereign industrial capability for the Navy's major surface combatants.

Key responsibilities include:
- Support the engineering planning and day to day technical execution with ad-hoc tasks and technical problem solving and coordinate engineering efforts across various streams and products
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of engineering process, systems and workflows to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and areas of improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and IM&T, to gather insights and perspectives on performance challenges and opportunities
- Design, develop, and implement performance testing protocols to evaluate the effectiveness of engineering systems and processes
- Work closely with engineering teams to validate performance improvements and monitor the impact of changes on overall system functionality
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) to measure the success of performance improvement initiatives
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for management, summarizing performance trends, achievements, and areas requiring attention
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of engineering performance standards, procedures, and best practices
About YOU
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in Business Management/Engineering/Project Management or other relevant discipline is highly desired.
- Extensive technical project management experience in systems engineering with an understanding of systems engineering processes, performance analysis and measurement, and process optimisation.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing performance improvement initiatives in an engineering environment.
- Demonstrated experience within a project orientated organisation with significant exposure in managing complex projects/programs.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, building high trust relationships across a diverse internal and external stakeholder group.
- Performance driven, ability to balance conflicting priorities and manage multiple streams of work to ensure implementation milestones are met.
- Strong documentation skill with focus on maintaining comprehensive records of engineering performance standards, procedure and best practices
