About the OPPORTUNITY
We currently have an exciting new opportunity within our Research & Technology business in Tonsley, SA for a Mechatronics Engineer.
Working across all aspects of system development and integration, the Mechatronics Engineer will have a strong background in robotics and sensor integration, with considerable knowledge in both physical and digital platforms.

Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and implement mechatronic systems for various applications, including robotics and automation.
- Participate in Risk Assessments to identify and implement required safety controls in mechatronic systems.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, and control systems to enhance the functionality and performance of mechatronic systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, design solutions, and implement projects.
- Utilise physical and synthetic platforms such as RoboDK, ROS and Omniverse for simulation, testing and Prototyping.
- Develop and optimize algorithms for sensor data processing, fusion, and interpretation.
- Conduct experiments, testing, and validation to ensure the reliability and robustness of mechatronic systems.
About YOU
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in mechatronics engineering, robotics, or related roles.
- Familiarity with concepts and real world implementation of Machine Vision and Machine learning systems.
- Strong knowledge of robotics principles, and industrial control systems (PLC, IoT).
- Experience with sensor integration, calibration, and data processing.
- Proficiency in using software platforms such as RoboDK, ROS, Inventor and Omniverse.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, C/C++ and Matlab.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
- Enjoys working in an innovative, fast-paced agile team environment.
- Holder of a current Australian Defence Security clearance or able to obtain one
