About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Workplace Technical Lead to join our Maritime Business based at SA-Flinders Street or SA-Osborne Naval Shipyard, reporting to Operations Director.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
As a Workplace Technical Lead within the Maritime Business you will be responsible for ensuring that infrastructure is delivered to the technical, cost and schedule goals in accordance with the contractual and company requirements in order to deliver to our customer's needs. This role is based in SA-Flinders Street or SA-Osborne Naval Shipyard.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide subject matter expertise to support the development of new shipyard facilities including development including the development of functional requirements, support to concept design, construction, commissioning and through-life maintenance
- Exercise engineering delegation on behalf of the BAE Systems Facilities – Group Technical Authority assuring all engineering activities are planned, developed, evaluated and delivered to satisfy business needs and in accordance with internal policies and applicable legislation
- Deliver integrated engineering and integrated logistics solution support services within a service performance based framework
- Provide a strong focus on the delivery of a capability based support solution underpinned by clear strategic rationale
- Drive the development of a customer aligned service delivery model
- Actively seek opportunities to influence partner, customer and internal stakeholders
- Be responsible for the estimating, resourcing and delivery of the engineering effort required for the technical solution
- Formulate the technical approach to the work to be performed, assign and manage the resources to execute the engineering program / project
- Write effective key support system tender data requirements or plans
About YOU
- Engineering qualifications in Mechanical / Construction and experience satisfying the requirements for membership of the Engineers Australia
- Demonstrated experience in construction project management along with facilities maintenance and operations
- Experience with control/cost account management and project scheduling
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills
- A sensible and pragmatic attitude coupled with the ability to build and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
