About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Technical Governance Engineer to join our Hunter Class Program based at Osborne or Melbourne, reporting to the Technical Governance Manager. Whilst this opportunity is a 12-month Fixed Term, full-time opportunity, we welcome applications from candidates seeking a part-time role as well.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for working across all aspects of the coordination and delivery of Technical Governance activities required for the Hunter Class Frigate Project (HCFP) in support of the Chief Engineers office. Be a part of a supportive and collaborative team that will support your individual growth and development pathway.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the set-up and execution activities for Mandatory System Reviews - Design.
- Supporting the Technical Governance Manager in managing and delivering of Design Reviews in support of Lifecycle Management activities, including the coordination and agreement of aims and objectives with internal senior leadership.
- Manage the Technical Standard Baseline (TSB) within DOORs and provide support and advice to internal Engineering teams, as required, relating to compliance with the TSB.
- Support the Deputy Chief Engineer in the management and administration of Technical Risks & Issues.
- Supporting the development and delivery of contractual documentation, as required from the HCFP Technical Governance scope.
- Provide support and advice to internal Engineering teams and, as required, external Suppliers in all matters related to the HCFP Technical Governance scope.
About YOU
- Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate and build relationships with people at all levels.
- Significant experience within the Engineering or Manufacturing discipline with demonstrated experience in major project reviews.
- Demonstrated professional integrity, objectivity, acceptance of responsibility, maturity of judgement.
- Qualifications satisfying the requirements for a member of the Institute of Engineers Australia or equivalent experience.
